The 8 enclosed pictures were rendered in Photoshop with Kai's Power Tools, Terrazzo, Tesselation and a few other nifty texture rendering gadgets and graphic gizmos. The images are 16/32 bit color, 832x624, JPEG compressed (or not depends on the picture =) PICT files. They look great on most monitors but tend to suffer with color settings less than "Thousands of Colors".
These images are Shareware $5, please consult the last chapter for registration information.

Requirements:
• MacOS Computer with OS 8 and the Desktop Pictures control panel installed or
• MacOS Computer with System 7.x.x and some other desktop pic utility or
• Windows IBM compat. and an image converter (you should get a Mac ya know)
NOTE: The Desktop Pictures control panel that comes with OS 8 has randomizing capabilities of it's own. Just drop a folder of pictures onto it's display and you'll see what I mean (or option+click the select picture button and select a folder).
Installation:
To install (under OS 8):
1. Put the folder with the pictures in it wherever you'd like (preferably I put it in the root directory, same as the System and Applications folder).
2. Open the Desktop Pictures Control Panel from the Apple Menu.
3. Click the Picture button to get the Desktop Picture Options.
4. Option-click the Select Picture button (if you have a pic set already you'll need to click Remove Picture) in the control panel and choose the KG Desktop Pictures folder, or, alternatively, drag it onto the picture of the desktop (in the control panel), then click Select Desktop.
NOTE: this will give you a random desktop picture everytime you restart, the picture is chosen from the selected folder. If you prefer to set the desktop to just one picture you may do so as well by normally clicking Select Picture.
5. Select a positioning option from the pop-up menu. You may want to play with this setting for best results. Some images may not scale up or down well. Usually "Position Automatically" will get the best results.
6. Click the Set Desktop button. A random picture from the folder you chose, or the picture you selected should now appear as your desktop background.
To install on other platforms:
You'll just have to figure it out on your own. You're smart, and I have faith in you. With that gentle reassurance, you are now set to tackle the task at hand. =P
